Academy of Architecture Admission: The Academy of Architecture was started in 1955 by three professors, C.K. Gumaste, S.H. Wandrekar, and V.G. Mhatre, to teach students architecture. It grew into a well-known institution offering a Diploma in Architecture, equal to a Bachelor’s degree, and later became part of Rachana Sansad in 1960, a top art and design school in Mumbai. Since 1999, it has been connected to the University of Mumbai, offering a five-year Bachelor of Architecture course, and in 2009, added a self-financed section, admitting 100 students yearly. Students learn subjects like design, construction, environmental studies, and structures, with optional courses and hands-on training in their 8th semester. The Academy keeps updating its teaching methods and invites expert guest teachers to guide students. It has won the prestigious Le Corbusier Trophy 28 times for being the best architecture school in India. Many graduates have become successful architects, working in India and abroad, including famous names like Hafeez Contractor and Sanjay Puri, and the Academy continues to focus on providing excellent education to inspire future generations.
