A.K.G Memorial Co-Operative College, Admission: A.K.G Memorial Co-operative College of Nursing (AKGMCCON) is part of the Kannur Co-operative Hospital Society. It was started in August 2008 in memory of Sri A.K. Gopalan, a famous politician and great speaker who worked for the poor and downtrodden. The college moved to its new building in December 2010 in Mavilayi, AKG’s hometown, which is a peaceful hilly area 10 km west of Kannur, away from the city's noise and pollution. It is now one of the top nursing colleges in India.
