1. For admissions into the College visit the official website www.hgcollege.edu.in.
2. Candidates are needed to fill in and submit the application form online by logging into the College website www.hgcollege.org. 
3. An admission processing fee of Rs. 300/- shall have to be paid through net banking/ATM-cum-debit card/UPI/Credit Card only. The application submission process will have to be completed within the notification period.
4. Admissions into the College are based strictly on merit. The College prepares a common merit list of all applicants for each course, and admissions are given based on that list. 
5. The College admits students in the Higher Secondary (Science and Arts streams),B.A/B.Sc Honours courses and B.A/B.Sc Regular courses and Post Graduate Courses in Assamese, Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology.
6. Candidates securing 45%(in the General category) and 40% (Reserved category) in the qualifying examination can apply for admission.
7. Candidates seeking admission into any Honours subject must secure 50%(General category) and 45% marks (Reserved category) in the subjects concerned in the +2 examination.
8. In B.A/B.Sc courses, the Common Merit List is prepared based on the marks obtained in four subjects in the qualifying examination (HS or equivalent).

• For the B.Sc. course, marks obtained in English and the best three science subjects are considered.
• For the B. A. course, marks obtained in English and the best three other subjects are considered.
