Admission to Delhi University for 345 vacant seats

The Delhi University (DU) has recorded the highest no of admission under the sports quota. The university officials announced that the national and state-level players pool was completely filled in the first two merit lists only. Therefore, there are 345 pending vacant sears under the sports quota. Due to the vacant seats, the university administration is planning to release a third merit list for the district level players to fill the seats.

In the first two DU merit list, admission was offered to 2000 students. Although the second merit list for admission under the sports category was released on 2 December 2021, the university has still not confirmed releasing a third merit list for the candidates.

In an interview, Pankaj Sinha, chairperson of DU Sports Council, has announced that they want to give admission to the best sportspersons or athletes; therefore, for the 345 vacant seats, they are planning to release whether they should release a merit list of the candidates of the district - level seats.  

Officials also announced that the admissions under the sports quota for the academic year 2021-22 had been the highest in the last many years.
