According to St Stephen's, the CUET score will be given 85 percent weightage in admission
St Stephen's College, part of Delhi University, has announced that admissions to the minority college will be based on 85% of CUET scores and 15% of interview marks for all categories of applicants, rather than the varsity's requirements.
In an admission notification issued on its website on Tuesday, the college also stated that it reserves the right to proceed with admissions according to its admission criteria, which it is guaranteed as a minority institution.
The college reserves 50% of its seats for non-Christian students and the remaining places for Christian students.
Vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh of DU has stated that for general seats, the college should only consider the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores, while for minority seats, the college can hold interviews and give the CUET scores a weighting of 85% and the rest to the interviews.
Delhi University official said that they are trying to sort out the issue with the college.
"We are aware about the notification. We are trying to iron out the issue. There is still time for us to arrive at that stage as currently only the registration for CUET is underway. We will sort out the issue," the official said.
The college also announced the establishment of its undergraduate admission portal, through which individuals interested in attending the college should apply as well as register for CUET.
The college will determine the number of applicants in each category who will be shortlisted based on their CUET scores and invited for an interview. The University Grants Commission made the CUET score essential for admission to all 45 of the country's central universities last month.
