IIT Delhi's Fifth SciTech Spins Lecture For School Students On January 29

On January 29, the Indian Institute of Technology IIT Delhi will hold the fifth SciTech Spins lecture titled "The Building Blocks of Matter: From Particles to Strings.". Physicists Abhishek Muralidhar Iyer and Tarun Sharma will present laboratory demonstrations and lectures.

SciTech Spins is an academic outreach program offered by the institute to students in grades 9 to 12. The lecture will also be streamed live on the institute's official YouTube channel.

According to the professors, "In this talk, we will zoom into the bizarre but fascinating world of the fundamental building blocks of nature and the laws of physics that govern their behavior. We will highlight the significant contributions that led to our understanding of particle physics today and end with questions that still puzzle scientists today."

Scientists from IIT Delhi gave a lecture called 'A Brief History of the Universe: From the Big Bang to the Present' in December 2021, in which they explained the universe and its history.

Each registered student who attends the lecture will receive an e-certificate from IIT Delhi. Students can nominate themselves for the SciTech Spins lecture series by contacting IIT Delhi's Associate Dean, Academic Outreach and New Initiatives (adoni@iitd.ac.in; acadoutreach@iitd.ac.in).
