The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is a structured and independent body that focuses on attributing higher education institutions throughout the country. NAAC was formed by the University Grants Commission(UGC) of India to highlight the quality of higher education.  This concept came into being due to the result of the National Policy on Education. (1986) To work with the matter of higher education, the National Policy on Education designed a body known as the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. (NAAC) The NAAC was enacted in 1994 with the head office at Bangalore. It provides the best services such as high standards of education, well-being and good leadership exercise. This, in turn, lifts the performance of the institution. The importance of higher education has been recognized in all spheres. No matter what kind of education it is, India has been providing the advantage of higher education, primary education, technical education, etc. 

Significant Aspects of National Assessment and Accreditation Council

NAAC is an important term that highlights the quality of higher education. State universities play a major role in the area of higher education. NAAC is an integral part that provides education to different kinds of people. No universities will be granted the University Grant Commission (UGC) without NAAC. The grades are given to the universities by the NAAC. The top grades universities are considered the best ones in terms of research, teaching-learning process, assessment and so on. Those universities which get A++, A+ and A are at the zenith of the body.

NAAC Ranking System

Grades are provided by NAAC to determine the performance of higher institutes. There are four grades in total- A, B, C and D. These grades are allotted based on the achievement of the institutes. It stands for very good, good, satisfactory and unsatisfactory. It is mandatory to know the total score as per the subjects in the curriculum. The last conclusion is derived from CGPA, after the evaluation.
