Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) is a legalized body that falls under the Ministry of Ayush. The Government of India took the initiative and established the act under the Indian Medicine Central Council Act in 1971. It was passed in the year 1970 with a perspective to examine a diverse range of medicines in India, namely, Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani. CCIM highlights the higher education system in the area of medicines. Due to its professional outlook, it is doing a great job under the University Grants Commission.
