Forensic science is ideally based on combining all science subjects, e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Zoology, chemistry, etc. This is a 3 years course divided into 6 equal semesters. After completing your 10+2 class in Science with Physics, chemistry, and mathematics, physics and mathematics would be the main subject.

• Scholarship:- There is also an opportunity for the brilliant students here, to get a scholarship (fee waiver) from AICTE to pursue BSc in forensic science. This scholarship as a tuition fee waiver is available for only 5 percent of students from each state.

BSc Forensic Science Admission Process 2022-23

Most of the colleges take direct entry for admission in their college, they made a merit of students based on their intermediate in science result, the student with extraordinary marks in 12^th will get admission very easily. On the other hand, many colleges conduct their own entrance exams, set their own questions as well as eligibility criteria for entry into the college.

Eligibility for forensic science

• The Student, who wanted to pursue BSc in forensic science, must have complete their 12^th in science stream from any recognized board, where Mathematics and physics are mandatory subjects.
• Minimum 50% marks in 12^th are compulsory, many colleges want 60% aggregate marks in main subjects as well.

Forensic science course After 12^th

In BSc in forensic science, there are several courses available,  these are

1. Diploma course:- You can do a diploma in forensic science and criminology after completing your 12^th This is a one-year diploma course, combined of two semesters, one who has passes 12^th could pursue this course. The approximate tuition fee for this course is 20000-80000 per year, depends on the college.
2. Diploma in forensic science after 12^th and law:- This is a one-year diploma course consists of two semesters, which is very suitable for law students. Some universities require qualifications relevant to this field whereas some colleges demand a degree in law for application. The average fee ranges between 10000-60000 per year, average salary fresher would get here is INR 15000-20000 per month. 

3. Undergraduate course:- You can go through a UG course in forensic science after completing your 12^th, that is BSc in forensic science. This is a three-year Undergraduate course, where candidates have to pass their intermediate in Science with PCM. The duration of this course is 3 years consisting of 6 semesters ( 6 months each). The average fee for pursuing this course ranges between 20000-100000 per year.  

BSc cyber forensic science course details

We often see or read news related to cybercrime, as the world is switching towards digital platforms, these cases became more common. Career options in cyber forensics:-

As we know that this world is shifted to digital platforms, the Indian government too launched  ‘Digital India’ campaign, from money transfer to online education, online shopping to work from home, everything is happening digitally. Therefore the cyber forensic professionals are in great demand, there are very huge employment opportunities in this field. Their demand is very high in law enforcement agencies, not only in India there is also high in foreign countries. Their different job roles are computer forensic investigator, Computer forensic technician, Specialists in digital forensics, Computer forensic analysts, Specialist in computer forensics, etc.

But, in our country, this course is not promoted very much by the government as well as by education experts.  Regarding this course, there are very few government job vacancies available. Our investigative agencies hardly release applications for Forensic science graduates, on the place of hiring Forensic experts directly, they used to give training to their officers which reduces the chances of Forensic Science graduates. So, this problem must be discarded to avoid job risks for Forensic Science graduates.
