IIT Kanpur is going to launch design, astronomy, and space science departments this Year.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has agreed to set up two new departments in design, space science, and astronomy, which will lead to a total 20  number of departments.

The blueprint of the new department of design was ready in 2002 but still it needed some improvement. After completing the construction work The institute is also planning to start a Bachelor of Design program in 2023, but it's not sure when that will be.

Head of the Design Program, Professor Nachiketa Tiwari, will be in charge of the new Design Dept. To meet the needs of the industry, it will have a design cell. This cell will help with new product ideas and development and product design. It will also help with branding, user experience, and packaging.

The Department of Space Science and Astronomy will cover many different things in space, planetary science, and engineering.

A new department at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi claims to be one of India's first of its kind. It brings together engineers, astrophysicists, and planetary scientists to help meet the country's growing need for education and research in important areas like instrumentation for space missions and telescopes for astronomical research.
