IIM Ahmedabad has changed the criteria for getting an MBA programme.

A new formula has been used to calculate the academic rating (AR) score for admission to IIM Ahmedabad's postgraduate Management programme in 2022-24. This new formula will be used for the admissions process (PGPM). The institute has decided to eliminate the bachelor's degree part of the shortlisting criteria. The academic rating will now be based on how well candidates did in their class 10 and class 12 board exams and how much work experience they had. Here, you can sign up for CAT 2022, MBA admission, the best colleges, and more.

Many universities were unable to hold exams in the past two years because of COVID-19, so the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021 committee let candidates take the test without meeting a certain percentage of marks in their degree exams.

This is why the Admissions Committee of IIM Ahmedabad decided to remove the bachelor's degree from the shortlisting criteria and apply it to everyone. This time, the AR will be calculated on a scale of 25, and the points will be divided by 35, IIM Ahmedabad said. This is because the AR now considers the candidate's class 10th and 12th grades and their work experience.
