Engineering Admission to continue in Odisha

Considering the plea raised by the OPECA in the apex court regarding the vacant seats in various private colleges in the engineering and other courses. The last date has been extended for admission till 31 December 2021. The authorities decided the relief provided by the supreme court in response to the plea stating the concern of the private engineering colleges for the vacant seats. The previous date that was finalized as the last date for admission to engineering and other courses was 15 December 2021.

There were 34,000 seats dedicated to an engineering course in the Odisha state, but the admission was only done for 10,000 seats. About 3,500 candidates took admission in government colleges, and about 6,500 enrolled in private engineering colleges. Therefore the OPECA approached the apex court, stating that there are a total of 30,000 engineering seats under the private colleges and only 6,500 seats are being equipped, and the rest 23,500 seats are still lying vacant, and the institution can’t complete admission for the remaining vacant seats till 15 December 2021. As per the result of their plea, the last date for admission to engineering and other course in Odisha has increased until 31 December 2021.
